OK, so this is where I am stuck.
So far I'm fairly impressed with Vista, things are working pretty darn well for a Beta product. I have it added to my SBS2k3 domain and working as well as XP for just about everything.
So yesterday I spent the whole day burning files off of network shares, trying to clear up some space on my NAS. I was burning DVDs using Nero 6.6.1.4, all the DVD's verified fine and apparently everything worked fine.
Today I was asked to copy a couple of cd-roms to send out to a vendor, place the standard cd-rom in the drive and windows has no clue I inserted it. No biggy burned the CD's on my tablet and forgot about it.
I just brought home the 'The Autumn Offering' cd, so I thought I wanted to listen to a little metal while I worked... so I put the audio cd in the drive... Nothing. Oh yea... poked around MCE and WM11 a little (wanted to try ripping the mp3's with windows)... Still nothing.
I put a DVD in the drive and it would read it fine... OK no biggy... This is why I'm running a Beta...
So I installed the ripping tool I normally use (CDEX) and bing! I can rip my audio cd like normal...
Happy and listening to my metal mp3s, I decide it's time to tackle why I can't get Adobe CS2 to run on Vista... So I put in my CS2 DVD to reinstall, and nothing... now the drive doesn't want to read DVDs.

DVD CD Drive issues.
3rd party burning software will cause weird issues with this sometimes
Check device manager to see if your ROM is banged out. If it is, try searching for KB320553 and see if that does anything. Please post your findings.
